From 1870 a regular boat connection was established with steamship to Ingøy. The trip took up to 17 hours to/from the nearest city, Hammerfest (the northermost city in the world) if the weather was good. Today the express ferry uses less than two hours to Hammerfest. The express ferry can take four cars and about 80 passengers.
 ::: Kobbøy arrives to Ingøy
The easiest way to Ingøy is from Havøysund (40-60 min). The ferry calls twice a day every day except Wednesday and Saturday (to Ingøy in the morning and back in the afternoon). Friday and Sundays the ferry takes you to/from Hammerfest. You can arrive at Havøysund either with the coastal express, by car or by bus from Hammerfest or Alta. With todays routes it is possible to travel from Oslo to Ingøy at the same day. Don’t hesitate to ask for help to plan your travel to magic Ingøy.
