::: Inside the church

Store:
New grocery shop with all vital food supplies and also some other necessities. Open every day except Sundays. Takes creditcards. Some warm and local food.

Harbour:
Ingøy has a fairly large and safe harbour. Extensive dredging was performed just a few years ago. Boats up to 80 metres long has called at this harbour.

Internet/broadband:
New wireless internet connections from mainland has been established recently with a speed at 5000 kbts (40 times faster than ISDN). So far the school is connected and others will be offered to connect in a while.

Cabel-TV:
Private arrangement with 10-15 channels and long cable. Most households are connected. Nowadays there are some technical difficulties we hope to solve during summer.

The church:
The church was rebuilt after the Second World War, after all buildings were burned down by the Germans, and has a capacity of 100 people. The priest usually comes here six times a year.

Communication:
Local express ferry from the mainland two times every day except Wednesday and Saturday the whole year. Please look at the link About Ingøy - Communication for further information.

Post office:
The post office is situated in the local shop. Mail five days a week.

School:
We have a school with one headmaster and a part-time teacher, but only 3 puils from 7-14 years old (they start at the age of 6 and leave when they are 16 years old ).

Power supply:
The power supply comes via a cable from the mainland and has been very stable and secure the last years. In case of power failure on the mainland, the island has its own power supply from an aggregate driven by oil which can provide the whole island with normal electricity for a long time.

Telephone:
Stable connection. ISDN options. Also most mobiles function well in the area.

Water supply:
A new and very modern watersupply takes the water from far under the ground and purifies it before it reaches the households.

The roads:
The condition of the roads are not so good, but an upgrade and restauration is due this year. There is a total of 12 km roads covering the island. The roads are very suitable for long walks in the beautiful scenery along the shores.
